Betting group Fortuna has agreed to become the main sponsor of Polish Ekstraklasa football team Legia Warsaw under a three-year deal effective from January 1, 2014.
Fortuna’s branding will feature on the front of the Ekstraklasa champion’s home and away shirts, and it will also benefit from a presence at the team’s Pepsi Arena home, in club publications and on Legia’s official website.
Elsewhere in its central Europe operating area, Fortuna also sponsors Czech Liga football teams Sparta Prague and Slavia Prague and the Slovakia national team.
Fortuna replaces printing products company ActiveJet, which served as Legia Warsaw’s main sponsor for the past two years.
Additionally, Legia has extended its technical partnership with Adidas until the end of June 2017.
The German-based sportswear giant will continue as the team’s kit manufacturer and, under expanded terms, it will provide a range of clothing and equipment to the Legia Warsaw Academy.
The two partners will collaborate further on youth football through the “All in for pro” initiative, where the exploits of young players aiming to earn a professional contract with Legia Warsaw will be documented on video-sharing website YouTube.
Adidas will also expand its range available in Legia’s official retail outlet to include products for basketball, rugby and tennis.
