Tourism Malaysia has entered into a partnership with LaLiga, which operates the top two divisions of Spanish football.
The deal names the agency LaLiga’s tourism destination partner in Asia. LaLiga’s commercial rights partner, the Mediapro agency, brokered the year-long agreement, which will cover the 2016-17 season.
Under the agreement, Tourism Malaysia will be granted exposure through television broadcasts of LaLiga games in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Maldives.
Datuk Seri Mirza Mohammad Taiyab, director general at Tourism Malaysia, said: “This branding exercise will help attract the interest of sports fans in Asia, especially LaLiga supporters, to consider Malaysia as their next holiday destination and experience all that we have to offer.”
