Medcare Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital has entered into a partnership with the Middle East division of LaLiga, which operates the top two divisions of Spanish football.
The hospital, which is part of Dubai-based healthcare conglomerate Aster DM Healthcare, has been named the official regional healthcare provider of LaLiga Middle East. The length of the deal was not disclosed. The partnership will focus on the growing demand for specialised orthopaedic treatment.
Under the agreement, the hospital’s foot, ankle and hand centres will use their orthopaedic services to treat sports-related and non-sports-related injuries in the United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Layla Al Marzouqi, director of health regulation and the Dubai Medical Tourism project at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), said: “Orthopaedics and sports medicine is one of the services of Dubai Health Experience (DXH) – the programme launched by DHA to promote Dubai as a medical tourism destination.
“LaLiga’s partnership with Medcare – one of our prominent partners in 'DXH Group' – reflects the growth and expansion of the services offered by the healthcare industry in Dubai and is in line with our vision to provide high-quality specialised care.”
The partnership marks Medcare’s first with a global sports brand.
Fernando Sanz, regional director of LaLiga Middle East & North Africa and International Projects, said: “Medcare was our first choice when it came to brand association with a healthcare provider with expertise. Health and safety are very important issues for us and our goal is to continually find new ways to ensure the well-being of our players and strengthen our brand in the Middle East.”
