Thai travel retail group King Power has agreed a deal to become the title sponsor of the inaugural Wheelchair Rugby Quad Nations tournament.
Sanctioned by the International Wheelchair Rugby Federation, the event will take place in Leicester, England, from March 9-11, and will feature four teams from around the world.
Great Britain will compete as host, while Australia, the US and Japan will also take part as the top-three ranked sides in the world. All teams will play each other over the first two days, before the top two teams progress to the final on third day.
King Power already has strong links with host city Leicester via a naming-rights deal for the home stadium of English Premier League football club Leicester City.
Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, chief executive of King Power, said: “For generations, the passion of the people of Leicester has made the city one of the UK’s sporting strongholds, both for established and emerging sports. Quad Nations Wheelchair Rugby will be a fine addition to Leicester’s culture of international sporting excellence.”
