Korean automotive manufacturer Kia has agreed a deal to sponsor the ÖFB Cup, the annual club competition organised by the Austrian Football Association (ÖFB).
Kia’s deal covers the 2018-19 edition of the tournament. The company agreed the deal with the Sporteo agency, the ÖFB Cup’s marketing partner.
Kia will benefit from LED brand exposure during televised matches, logo space in the backdrop of interviews and on the official tournament website, and ticketing and hospitality packages.
Rene Petzner, marketing manager of Kia Austria, said: “The extension of our global football strategy through the involvement in the Uniqa ÖFB Cup is very important for Kia in Austria, above all with regard to further potential for increasing our brand awareness.”
Kia has also agreed a deal to sponsor selected televised matches played by Austrian clubs in the Uefa Europa League.
