Fast food restaurant chain KFC has been named as an official partner of this year’s Rugby League World Cup.
KFC will serve as the official quick service restaurant of the national team tournament, which will be co-hosted by Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
Under the agreement, KFC will benefit from brand exposure via the video referee board during try referrals and virtual on-field signage at all matches played in Australia and New Zealand.
Fan engagement initiatives will also be organised to promote the partnership.
KFC’s chief marketing officer Catherine Tan said: “KFC is excited about partnering with the Rugby League World Cup and being part of the sport’s pinnacle international event. This association is a natural extension of our partnership with the NRL and the rugby league community across both Australia and New Zealand.”
The tournament will run from October 27 to December 2.
