Video game developer EA Sports has entered into a partnership with Italian Serie A football club Juventus.
The three-year deal, which will cover the 2016-17 to 2018-19 seasons, names EA Sports as the exclusive video game partner of the Turin-based club.
Under the agreement, EA Sports’ Fifa 17 title, which is scheduled for release on September 27, will be available to play at gaming pods located around the club’s stadium.
Fan competitions will be organised on both parties’ digital media channels, while Juventus will also feature on the Fifa 17 demo.
In addition, EA Sports will support Juventus’ player of the month award with exclusive Fifa 17-based digital content.
Giorgio Ricci, Juventus’ head of global partnerships and corporate revenues, said: “Juventus' agreement with EA Sports is of great importance because it represents the first time that an Italian football club has signed a partnership with the video gaming giant and allows us to truly reach out to the entertainment industry on a worldwide scale given the popularity of Fifa 17 among young people and indeed the rest of the market.”
