Italian Serie A football club Juventus has teamed up with China Merchants Bank.
Under the deal, which will run through to 2020, China Merchants Bank will be designated at the Turin club’s official bank in China.
The partnership represents the bank’s first deal with a football club.
The two parties will collaborate to create co-branded payment cards featuring the club’s logo and shirt.
The bank will also be able to offer a variety of activations and discounts through the partnership.
“The co-branded credit card is just one of several operations dedicated to football fans in the territory of China,” China Merchants Bank general manager Zhang Dong said.
Giorgio Ricci, co-chief revenue officer for global partnership and corporate revenues at the club, added: “It is the fifth agreement signed with a leading brand in Asia in the last year, and we are proud to be linked to a leading company like China Merchants Bank. This agreement confirms the great potential of a country like China for the club’s development objectives.”
