The Mexican Olympic Committee (COM) has signed an agreement with Joma for the sportswear company to outfit its athletes in the events leading up to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Funds from the Joma deal will allow the COM to support competitors in 20 sports for this summer’s Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, November’s hosting of the Central American and Caribbean Sports Games in Veracruz and the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games, along with Rio 2016.
The sports to benefit include basketball, baseball, handball, hockey, rugby union, softball, volleyball, athletics, badminton, bowling, golf, skating, racquetball, squash, tennis, table tennis, archery, cycling and gymnastics.
The COM hopes to conclude further commercial tie-ups by March 15. The financial terms of the deal with Joma were undisclosed.
