Sports fashion retailer JD has expanded its partnership with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) by becoming the title sponsor of the governing body’s revamped league structure.
The new deal struck by JD, which has been a partner of the FAW since 2015, will cover the next seven seasons, from 2019-20 to 2025-26.
Under the agreement, the newly-named JD Cymru Leagues will comprise three divisions – the JD Cymru Premier, JD Cymru North and JD Cymru South.
The JD Cymru North and JD Cymru South divisions – effectively representing the second tier – will replace the Huws Gray Alliance and Welsh League Division 1, with both competitions coming under the FAW’s jurisdiction for the first time.
The FAW has also launched a new brand identity for its league structure, with seven daffodils representing each of the seven divisions of Welsh domestic football’s top three tiers.
