JCB digs in for extended Triumph Hurdle partnership

Construction and agricultural machinery manufacturer JCB has announced a six-year extension to its naming sponsorship of showpiece horse race the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham Racecourse.

The Triumph Hurdle is traditionally held as the first race on the final day of the annual Cheltenham Festival and has been sponsored by JCB since 2002.

JCB will also continue with its title backing of the Triumph Hurdle Trials as part of the Road to Cheltenham series at the Open, International and Festival Trials Day meetings.

The winner of this year's Triumph Hurdle, which ran when the 2014 Cheltenham Festival concluded last Friday, was Tiger Roll, trained by Gordon Elliott and ridden by Davy Russell.
