Merged telecommunications providers Lime and Flow have sealed a sponsorship agreement with the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association.
Under the two-year deal, which is worth J$28m (€217,000/$239,500), Lime and Flow will sponsor all JAAA’s national championships as major partners of the federation.
JAAA president Dr Warren Blake welcomed the partnership ahead of Jamaica’s participation at the IAAF World Athletics Championships in Beijing later this month.
“The cost to Beijing is formidable,” Blake told the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper. “The cost for airfare alone runs into J$5-6m. The needs of the JAAA go a way further than that, but this goes a significant way towards meeting our needs, and we are quite happy for this partnership.
“The J$28m is quite a boost for us, and it will put the JAAA in a position to better look after and support our athletes.”
