The Jamaican Tourist Board will sponsor an entry in the 2013-14 Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
It is the third time that Jamaica has fielded an entry in the endurance sailing event and the deal will promote the Caribbean island as a desirable holiday destination over 11 months and 40,000 miles of competition across 15 ports on six continents.
“This exciting project is a unique opportunity to target Jamaica’s key tourism markets across the globe, bringing Destination Jamaica back under the international spotlight,” John Lynch, director of tourism for the Jamaica Tourist Board, said. “Jamaica’s vibrant branding will be seen all over the world. We are planning a creative programme of events and activity to mark the arrival of the Jamaica yacht into the race’s various ports-of-call.”
Meanwhile, Premier Shipping & Packing Limited (PSP) has reached a deal to become the official logistics partner for the Clipper Race for a third consecutive edition.
PSP will again take charge of moving Clipper Race containers containing vital equipment and supplies throughout the course of the event.
