Mobile virtual network operator Lycamobile has entered into a UK-focused partnership with NFL American football team the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Lycamobile will serve as an official UK founding partner and official mobile network partner of the Jaguars as part of the multi-year deal.
The Jaguars currently have a multi-year agreement in place with the NFL to play matches in London, and the team won its latest game in the English capital on Sunday with a 44-7 victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
The Jaguars’ partnership with Lycamobile is designed to help the company expand its offering to US consumers and further build its presence in the UK.
Lycamobile will take on naming rights to the ‘Jaguars Jam’, an online weekly press conference featuring a star player answering questions from UK media and fans. Various marketing initiatives and fan competitions will also be launched, giving supporters the chance to win tickets to Jaguars games in Florida or at Wembley.
Lycamobile will also benefit from branding at EverBank Field, the Jaguars’ home stadium, where it will hold naming rights to The Lycamobile Gate entrance.
In addition, fan activations such as competitions and product interaction opportunities will be launched at home games.
Prem Sivasamy, Lyca Group deputy chairman, said: “The popularity of American football has been growing in the UK for some years and given the passion and excitement for the game around the world, we couldn’t be happier about partnering with this great American team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars and Lycamobile share a passion for international collaboration and we believe this partnership will deliver exciting opportunities and greater engagement for our customers and Jaguars fans in the USA and globally.”
