The Ironman triathlon series has expanded its partnership with organic food and drink producer Clif Bar.
Clif Bar has been named the official sports nutrition sponsor of the Ironman and half-triathlon Ironman 70.3 series. The three-year deal begins in 2016 and will culminate in the 2018 race season.
As part of the agreement, athletes will be provided with Clif Bar’s range of energy bars, gels and chews at each North American event on the calendar. The company’s products will also be stocked at next year’s Ironman World Championship in Hawaii and Canadian events, marking the first time the partnership will expand into international territory.
Clif Bar has been a long-time supporter of Ironman and the sport of triathlon, sponsoring a number of athletes including the top American men’s finisher two years in a row, Timothy O’Donnell (2015) and Ben Hoffman (2014), at the Ironman World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.
