Professional services company EY has agreed a deal to become title sponsor of the new Irish Hockey League domestic club competition.
Under the agreement, the terms of which were not disclosed, the new league will be known as the EY Irish Hockey League.
The all-island competition will feature 20 of Ireland’s top male and female clubs, each of which will compete to become league champions.
Players due take part in the inaugural tournament include current Irish national team captain Megan Frazer, who will turn out for the Ulster Elks.
The first edition of the Irish Hockey League will run from September 2015 until April 2016.
