Singapore-headquartered financial services company DBS Bank has signed up as an associate sponsor of Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket franchise the Rising Pune Supergiants.
The agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will cover the 2016 IPL season, which began at the weekend.
As part of the deal, DBS’s logo will appear on Supergiants apparel. The company will also receive in-stadia advertising exposure as well as access to players and hospitality and match tickets.
DBS will organise campaigns such as ticket giveaways over the course of the season to promote the partnership.
“Over the years, we have established deep roots in India, and have leveraged our strong regional customer franchise, insights and Asia connectivity to create value for India customers,” DBS India chief executive Surojit Shome said. “This partnership is a reflection of our commitment to the market, and our belief in creating joyful experiences in the countries we are present in.”
The Supergiants is a newly-formed franchise and won its first-ever IPL game against defending champion the Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Ajinkya Rahane’s (pictured) unbeaten innings of 66 lifted his team to a nine-wicket victory.
