The British Paralympic Association has agreed a partnership with the UK division of German financial services company Allianz.
Allianz UK has been named an official partner of the BPA in a deal that will become effective from January 2016. The length of the agreement was not disclosed.
Allianz UK will support the BPA in the build-up to next summer’s Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The partnership ties in with the bank’s commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity and excellence in the workplace and within competitive sport.
“Our employees are passionate about this partnership and the idea of making sport accessible to everybody,” Joe Dye, chief executive of Allianz Insurance, said. “We are very much looking forward to supporting the Paralympics GB athletes achieve even more success in the Rio 2016 games and beyond.”
Allianz UK joins Adidas, BP, BT, Deloitte, EDF Energy, Hogan Lovells, Mondelēz International, Nissan and Sainsbury’s as official partners of the BPA.
The Allianz SE Group has been a partner of the International Paralympic Committee since 2006.
