Financial services company Investec has signed a five-year extension to its partnership with New Zealand Rugby, the governing body of rugby union in the country.
The new deal, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will run from 2016 until 2020.
Under the agreement, Investec will retain its title sponsorship of the Super Rugby club competition and the Rugby Championship national team tournament in New Zealand, as well as the International Rugby Academy, which is based in South Africa.
“Our developed relationship and history with NZR has proved invaluable to our brand so it was a natural and easy decision to extend this sponsorship,” Janet Larsen, head of group marketing at Investec South Africa, said.
NZR chief executive Steve Tew added: “In an age where competition for the attention of fans and the entertainment dollar is fierce, we are grateful that Investec continues to support the Rugby Championship and Super Rugby in New Zealand and that they readily get behind our efforts to promote these competitions.”
Investec has been a partner of New Zealand Rugby since 2009.
