The State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has been named an official partner of the International Judo Federation.
The two parties have agreed a four-year deal, which is effective immediately and will run until 2020. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“This partnership is very important for the development of judo worldwide and it is an outstanding opportunity for us to sign this new agreement with a top company,” IJF president Marius Vizer said. “The partnership with SOCAR will help develop even further all of our projects, in terms of sport, with the IJF World Tour, as well as in terms of education and social projects.”
SOCAR will serve as a global partner of this summer's Uefa Euro 2016 national team football tournament in France and also sponsored the inaugural European Games multi-sport event in its home country last year.
