Financial services company Bank Negara Indonesia has agreed a deal to become title sponsor of the 2016 edition of the Indonesian Masters golf event.
Co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGA Tour of Indonesia, the event will now be officially known as the BNI Indonesian Masters presented by Zurich. Swiss insurance company Zurich is the tournament’s presenting partner.
BNI will also support the Indonesian Golf Tour as part of its drive to further raise the profile of the sport in the country.
“Golf is in an exciting place right now in Indonesia and BNI is honoured to be a part of the growth and development that we are experiencing in the game in our country,” BNI president director Achmad Baiquini said. “The partnership further strengthens our commitment to the game and we look forward to showcasing our brand to golf fans at home and abroad.”
This year’s edition of the event will take place at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club from October 6-9 and feature a prize fund of $750,000 (€673,000). England’s Lee Westwood is the defending champion.
