The IMG Schweiz agency has sold a one-year secondary sponsor level package to Russian oil company Rosneft for the Spengler Cup ice hockey competition.
The deal means the Swiss subsidiary of IMG Worldwide has now distributed all of the commercial opportunities associated with the invitational event.
Rosneft is the majority shareholder of the CSKA Moscow ice hockey team – one of six sides taking part in the 11-game competition running from December 27-31 – and its branding will appear on its home squad’s jersey as well as on the ice and stadium advertising boards.
The company’s logo will also be seen on all Spengler Cup tickets and other communications media, while it will enjoy an extensive presence across on-site promotions and hospitality.
Along with CSKA Moscow, host club Davos will be joined by Rochester Americans, Team Canada, Vitkovice Steel and Geneve-Servette at the 87th Spengler Cup.
