Golden Ale from Guinness, Pimm’s and Aspall have been named as the official ale, spirits and cider partners, respectively, of the International Cricket Council’s upcoming Champions Trophy one-day international event, which will take place in England and Wales.
Pimm’s and Golden Ale are both Diageo-owned brands and their products, as well as Aspall’s, will be made available for fans at the tournament’s three host venues – the Oval in London, Edgbaston in Birmingham and Cardiff Wales Stadium.
Last week, Indian beer brand Kingfisher reached an agreement with the ICC to serve as the official lager partner of the tournament, which will run from June 1-18.
Campbell Jamieson, the ICC’s general manager of commercial, said: “This ongoing partnership clearly demonstrates the benefits our partners can achieve through their association with ICC events and world class cricket.
“The ICC welcomes the opportunity to partner with global brands which recognise the size and scale of ICC events and we continue to build a strong commercial programme with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 in our sights.”
