Korean automotive manufacturer Hyundai has signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Italian Serie A football club AS Roma.
The deal covers the 2018-19 to 2020-21 seasons. Hyundai will serve as Roma’s global automotive partner and will also benefit from logo placement on the back of the club’s shirts.
The deal marks the first of its kind for Hyundai in Italian football. A range of marketing initiatives will be organised to promote the partnership.
Hyundai will also receive brand exposure through LED advertising on match days, as well as promotion at the club’s training ground and on social and digital media.
The deal continues Hyundai’s recent football sponsorship drive, with the company having this summer signed sleeve sponsorship deals with English Premier League club Chelsea, Spanish LaLiga team Atlético Madrid and German Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin.
Andreas-Christoph Hofmann, vice-president of marketing and product at Hyundai Motor Europe, said: “AS Roma is another club with a hugely passionate fanbase that aligns with our strategy of placing fans at the heart of all our activities, and we look forward to giving back to these fans over the course of the upcoming season and beyond.”
