Banking group HSBC has extended its sponsorship agreement with the Australian Rugby Union.
HSBC will continue to serve as the official banking partner of the Australian national team until the end of 2019 after agreeing a new three-year deal with the national governing body.
The agreement will cover the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan. HSBC’s previous three-year deal was due to expire at the end of 2016.
HSBC will continue to receive advertising exposure through signage at all Australia home matches as part of the deal. It will also benefit from match-day ticketing and corporate hospitality packages, as well as player appearances at employee and customer events.
“HSBC’s commitment to supporting rugby in Australia and around the world is a great testament to our game,” ARU chief executive Bill Pulver said. “We are most fortunate to have this calibre of corporate partner to help realise the Qantas Wallabies’ global ambitions. Following a successful World Cup campaign in 2015, HSBC’s sponsorship renewal is a real vote of confidence for the game as a whole, and our continued growth in Australia.”
