Australian Big Bash League Twenty20 cricket team Hobart Hurricanes has unveiled confectionery products manufacturer Cadbury as a new shirt sponsor.
The deal, the length of which was not disclosed, covers the Hurricanes’ men’s and women’s teams.
Cadbury’s logo will feature on the chest area of the Hurricanes’ shirts as part of the deal, which also names it as the official chocolate and confectionery partner of the team.
From the men’s team, George Bailey, Simon Milenko and Riley Meredith will serve as Cadbury on-field ambassadors. They will be joined by Erin Fazackerley, Steffanie Daffara and Brooke Hepburn, who play for the Hurricanes’ Women’s Big Bash League team.
Cadbury has also agreed a deal to become an official partner of the Cricket Tasmania governing body.
Hurricanes general manager Phil Rigby said: “With Cadbury, expect to see even more glorious purple at Blundstone Arena, especially as we work together on some exciting game-day activities highlighted by a Cadbury Christmas Eve clash extravaganza.
“Plus there’s our huge ‘pet project’ – creating the family fun ‘Cadbury Hill’ around the old scoreboard on the eastern side of the stadium. So our members and fans and their young families and kids will have plenty to look forward to this summer on the field with our players, around the grounds with our event entertainment, and off the field with some major joint digital and social media content in the pipeline.”
