New Zealand signs shirt sponsor for Champions Trophy

Indian dairy products manufacturer Amul has agreed a deal to sponsor the New Zealand cricket team at this year’s Champions Trophy one-day international tournament.

The agreement will grant Amul brand exposure on the sleeve of the team’s shirts during the tournament, which runs from June 1-18 in England and Wales.

Amul’s logo will also appear on the team’s training wear throughout the event.

New Zealand currently sits fourth in the world ODI rankings, behind India, Australia and South Africa. The team will wear its Amul-branded kit for the first time during a warm-up match against India on May 28.

James Wear, commercial director for New Zealand Cricket, said: “We are looking towards at least a couple of months and hopefully a long-term partnership.”

New Zealand has been drawn alongside England, Bangladesh and Australia in Group A at the Champions Trophy.
