Indian motorcycle manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has renewed its title sponsorship of the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 cricket competition.
The new three-year deal will run until the 2022 season and will ensure the competition retains its official title of the Hero Caribbean Premier League.
Hero MotoCorp has title sponsored the CPL since 2015. The new deal has been signed ahead of the 2019 season, which gets underway on September 4 and runs until October 12.
Dr. Pawan Munjal, chairman and chief executive of Hero MotoCorp, said: “Having been associated with the Hero CPL from its inception, it is immensely satisfying to see how the tournament has grown and revitalised cricket in the Caribbean.
“The Hero CPL has been an outstanding launch pad for budding cricketers who are now competing around the world. The extension of our title sponsorship of the Hero CPL is yet another example of our long-term commitment to the promotion of sports around the globe.”
Hero previously served as a global partner of the International Cricket Council. Last year, the company title sponsored the Nidahas Trophy, a new Twenty20 tournament contested by the national teams of Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh.
