HDL scores Washington Redskins partnership

Health Diagnostic Laboratory (HDL) has agreed a one-year deal to become the official health and wellness partner of NFL American football side the Washington Redskins.

Under the deal, Redskins players, coaches and staff will be able to take advantage of the advanced cardiometabolic testing and clinical health consulting the heath management company offers.

The deal, which has an option of two additional years, marks the first occasion an NFL team will make available advanced testing that includes a comprehensive panel of biomarkers for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other related diseases.

The sponsorship will allow HDL to benefit from branding opportunities at Redskins’ FedExField stadium and the club’s training centre. In addition, HDL has other opportunities for game sponsorships, fan fitness challenges, military veteran screenings, a fitness expo, banner adverts on the club’s official websites, print advertising and participation in television commercials.

HDL will also become the presenting sponsor for the club’s health and wellness website, while Redskins players Kirk Cousins and Pierre Garcon have been confirmed as HDL health ambassadors.

In addition, HDL will highlight its “Hail To Your Health” campaign as part of its presenting sponsorship of Diabetes Awareness Day at the home game against San Diego Chargers on November 3.

Tonya Mallory, HDL president and chief executive officer, said: “It is our hope that this partnership will bring more attention to the need for healthy habits and lifestyles in the community with the support of the Washington Redskins.”
