Turkish football club Galatasaray has signed a sponsorship deal with Indian technology company HCL’s ME Tablet brand.
The agreement follows the conclusion of Galatasaray’s deal with Nikon, and ME Tablet will replace the Japanese electronics firm’s branding space on the team’s shorts for the duration of the 2013-14 season.
Under the deal, Galatasaray’s men’s volleyball team will also wear armbands bearing the ME Tablet logo.
HCL will also design a special Galatasaray version of the ME Tablet to be sold in club outlets as part of a deal worth in excess of $1.5m (€1.14m)
The Indian company joins other brands from the technology sector – Turk Telekom, Avea and Yandex – on the Galatasaray sponsorship roster.
