Bundesliga top-tier German football club Hamburg has sealed an extension to a partnership with Care-Energy.
The energy company signed its renewal yesterday (Monday), ahead of the club’s crucial relegation-promotion play-off against second-tier club Karlsruher last night.
Hamburg clung on to its top-tier status with a stoppage-time equaliser and an extra-time winner to secure a 2-1 win at Karlsruher on the night, and a 3-2 victory on aggregate. The result means it remains the only German football club to have never been relegated from the Bundesliga.
The deal with Care-Energy will run for three years, from 2015-16 to 2017-18. The energy company said that the agreement was set in stone regardless of which division Hamburg played in.
“Good partners can be seen in bad times, and our continued partnership with Hamburg was never in question,” Care-Energy chief executive Martin Kristek said.
