Irish beer brand Guinness will continue to serve as the title sponsor of the Pro12 European club rugby union tournament for a further four years after agreeing an extension with the Pro12 Rugby organising body.
The renewal comes ahead of the start of the 2016-17 Pro12 season on September 2. Guinness has held title sponsorship rights to the tournament since the 2014-15 season and the new agreement will run until the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
The tournament, which includes clubs from Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Italy, will continue to be officially titled the Guinness Pro12.
Pro12 Rugby also confirmed that the 2016-17 Pro12 final will take place at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on May 27. Irish team Connacht is the defending Pro12 champion.
Guinness has a strong presence within the sport and also serves as the official beer and official responsible drinking partner of Premiership Rugby, the governing body of the top division of English rugby union.
