Sports nutrition and dietary company Gourmet Fuel has agreed to become the official nutrition partner of Swim Ireland.
The terms of the deal with the national governing body were not fully disclosed, although Swim Ireland confirmed that the agreement is worth a “six-figure partnership” that will assist its athletes in preparations for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
Gourmet Fuel will provide Ireland’s swimmers with tailored meal plans that are consistently monitored, alongside educational advice.
Swim Ireland chief executive Sarah Keane said: “This partnership takes care of one whole major factor for our athletes, nutrition, which we hope will have a knock on effect in other areas – recovery, time management, injury prevention.”
