Wearable camera brand GoPro has struck a partnership deal with the MotoGP motorcycling world championship.
Under the five-year deal, which will run from 2015 to 2019, GoPro will serve as the official wearable camera of MotoGP and the title sponsor of the Motorrad Grand Prix in Germany.
As part of the collaboration, GoPro cameras will be capturing content of the race circuits including on-bike course previews and behind-the-scenes vignettes to be shared via social media and on MotoGP.com.
“Racing has always been a part of GoPro’s heritage and it continues to influence our product design,” GoPro founder and chief executive Nick Woodman said. “We hope to enhance the way race fans watch this premier series and look forward to MotoGP serving as an exciting platform for innovation.”
