Swiss watch brand Longines has signed on as the first international tier one partner of the 2018 Commonwealth Games, which will be hosted by the city of Gold Coast, Australia.
Longines will be delivering timing, scoring and results for all competitions and will be known as the official timekeeper for the multi-sport event.
Gold Coast 2018 organising committee chairman Peter Beattie said: “For GC2018, signing our first international tier one partner with over one year to go, illustrates the reputation GC2018 is developing as a strong brand with international appeal.”
Longines branding will also adorn the Queen’s Baton Relay uniforms across the 388-day journey from Buckingham Palace in London, England to the Gold Coast.
Longines has been a long-time supporter of the Commonwealth Games movement having delivered timing services to the Perth 1962 Commonwealth Games and most recently served as a sponsor of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
