Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes has signed a new partnership with Conmebol for the Copa América 2019.
Under the deal, GOL will become the Official Airline of the Copa América – the world’s oldest continental football tournament – which takes place in Brazil from June 14 to July 7.
GOL will also transport all teams, technical staff and other staff to and from fixtures during the tournament.
The airline has organised an additional 50 chartered flights between five Brazilian host cities – São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Salvador and Porto Alegre – to accommodate the extra demand.
For those who are travelling during the tournament, GOL will be screening all fixtures live in-flight via the GOL Online platform.
GOL will also have Copa América branding on-board, at airports and across its social and digital media channels.
The airline has been a sponsor of the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol – Brazil’s national football governing body – since 2014, and is currently the Official Carrier of the Brazilian national team.
