Czech automotive manufacturer Skoda has partnered with the German Ice Hockey Federation (DEB) in a deal that will place the company’s logo on the back of the national team’s jerseys.
Skoda will have a presence at all German national team games and will also sponsor the Deutschland Cup competition. Under the agreement, DEB officials will receive a fleet of 19 Skoda vehicles.
The two firms were previously in cooperation from 2006 to 2010. The length of the new agreement was not disclosed.
Skoda will also benefit from brand presence throughout print and online media within the framework of the national games of the DEB.
Franz Reindl, DEB president, said: "I am very proud of this cooperation. Skoda is a world-renowned and highly attractive brand, which has been active on the international ice hockey stage for 25 years.
He added: “The new partnership is an essential element … as our club supervisors will use the vehicles in order to work and support the youth teams of the clubs in Germany.”
