Irish fast food restaurant chain Supermac’s has extended a deal to remain as main sponsor of the Galway Gaelic Athletic Association.
The deal will run for five years, through to 2022, and covers all Galway adult and youth inter-county teams in football and hurling.
Supermac’s, which began its support of Galway in 1991, will continue to receive branding placement on the front of players’ jerseys.
The Irish Times newspaper reported that the agreement is worth approximately €2m ($2.4m).
The company also sponsors the Galway Camogie, Galway Ladies Football, Galway United and Galway WFC teams, as well as various GAA clubs across Ireland.
Pat Kearney, Galway County board chairperson, said: “This renewed sponsorship will ensure that Galway Inter-County Teams will be provided with the all of the resources necessary to compete at the highest levels of all national competitions in the years ahead.”
