NHL ice hockey franchise San Jose Sharks has extended its sponsorship agreement with software and consumer electronics retailer Fry’s Electronics through to 2016.
Fry’s will continue as the official retailer of consumer electronics for the Sharks and benefit from on-ice branding and signage at the team’s SAP Center home.
The Sharks and Fry’s have also opened up the possibility of collaborating on new technology initiatives to enhance the “game-watching experience” for fans, according to the team’s chief executive John Tortora.
Exact figures for the deal were not disclosed, but the Silicon Valley Business Journal said it is understood to be worth a seven-figure sum.
