Sports retailer Intersport has agreed a deal to become the main sponsor of the 2013-14 Vierschanzentournee ski jumping series.
Under the agreement, Intersport will receive advertising presence at each of the four Ski Jumping World Cup events that take place at Vierschanzentournee, which is also known as the Four Hills Tournament and begins on December 28.
The company was the main sponsor and naming rights holder of the Intersport Springertournee, which was renamed Vierschanzentournee in 1995, for more than 25 years.
The deal was brokered by the Infront Sports & Media agency, the official marketing partner of the German and Austrian Ski Federations.
Infront also confirmed that as a result of the Intersport deal, all sponsorship for the 2013-14 edition of Vierschanzentournee has now been sold.
“With the sponsorship commitment at the Vierschanzentournee, we can reach our target groups through one of the most popular events in the winter sports calendar,” Intersport’s chief executive officer, Franz Julen, said.
The Vierschanzentournee takes place at Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany, along with Innsbruck and Bischofshofen in Austria.
