Football Federation Australia, the body that governs the sport in the country, has agreed a multi-year partnership with German tyre manufacturer Continental.
Continental becomes the FFA’s official tyre partner and will support the Australian national team; the A-League, the country’s top tier of domestic football; the FFA Cup knockout competition and the MiniRoos children’s leagues.
The deal ties in with Australia’s Whole of Football Plan, an initiative that focuses on improving both the standard of, and interest in, the sport in the country over the next 20 years.
FFA chief executive David Gallop said: “Continental Tyres brings strong investment into Australian football and adds to the suite of blue-chip businesses that share our long-term vision to make football the number one sport in Australia.”
In other news, New Zealand-based A-League club Wellington Phoenix has extended its partnership with Revera, the online cloud provider.
The new three-year deal will culminate in the 2017-18 A-League season. As part of the agreement, Revera’s branding will appear on the Phoenix’s playing shorts and the firm will also receive in-stadium advertising at the club’s Wellington Regional Park Stadium.
The partnership first began in 2010.
