Campeonato Brasileiro Série A football team Fluminense has signed a five-year extension to its partnership with German sportswear giant Adidas through December 2018.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Fluminense is reported to have significantly increased its income when compared to its previous deal with Adidas.
Fluminense’s new agreement comes after Rio de Janeiro rival Flamengo negotiated a lucrative contract with Adidas last year.
After nine games of the current season, Fluminense is currently second in Serie A – three points behind leader Cruzeiro.
