Japanese tyre manufacturer Falken has strengthened its presence in the German football market by agreeing a deal to become a partner of this year’s relegation play-off matches in the country’s top three domestic club competitions, as well as the 2016-17 Supercup game.
Falken’s Sumitomo Rubber Industries subsidiary began a partnership with the top-tier Bundesliga and second-tier 2. Bundesliga ahead of the current 2015-16 season.
The relegation matches will run from May 19-24.
Falken will also have a presence at the 2016-17 Supercup, a match between the winners of the 2015-16 Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal knockout competition. The game serves as the traditional season-opener in German football.
The partnership package will include television advertising materials, LED perimeter boards, static advertising boards and all interview boards, as well as a range of other promotional measures.
The deal was brokered by the Lagardère Sports Germany arm of the Lagardère Sports agency.
