The Football Association (FA), the sport's governing body in England, has agreed a four-year extension to its deal with Vauxhall Motors, with the company continuing as the lead partner for all England national teams.
The FA’s current deal with the vehicle manufacturer had been due to expire in July 2014, but will now run through to July 2018.
The new sponsorship includes two new activations by the automotive company. Vauxhall will become the official presenting partner of England content on FATV – the FA’s online broadcast channel – and will also “align itself” with England supporters in a move the governing body said would help to “improve interaction” with fans.
Vauxhall is also the official vehicle supplier to the FA, Wembley Stadium and St. George’s Park, the FA’s new national football centre.
The agreement was negotiated by the FA’s head of sponsorship, Peter Daire, who said: “This renewal, well over a year before the current agreement expires, shows the England sponsorship is really delivering for Vauxhall and will continue to do so.”
