English Premier League football club Everton has signed a three-year extension to its shirt sponsorship deal with Thai beer brand Chang.
Effective from the start of next season and running until the end of the 2016-17 campaign, Everton said its new deal with Chang could be worth in excess of £16m (€19.1m/$26.6m) – making it the most lucrative in the club’s history.
Chang is the longest-running current shirt sponsor in the Premier League, having initially signed in 2004. It previously agreed renewed terms in 2005, 2008 and 2010.
Alongside the shirt sponsorship, the partnership between Everton and Chang will focus on the development of Thai footballing talent and both parties will continue to invest resources in projects that are aimed at improving and developing the game in the Southeast Asian country.
Everton is currently placed sixth in the Premier League table with 10 games left to play in the 2013-14 season.
