Everton has become the latest English Premier League football club to commit to video games manufacturer EA Sports and its flagship Fifa game after signing a two-year extension to its deal.
Under the new agreement, which runs until the end of the 2014-15 season, Everton’s Goodison Park ground will makes its first appearance in the game when Fifa 14 launches on September 27.
Fans will be able to download an exclusive Everton Fifa 14 cover after first-team players were captured using 3D head-scanning technology to ensure a high level of detail when they feature in the game’s latest edition.
As in EA Sports agreements with other clubs, supporters will be able to play Fifa 14 when the EA Sports dugout is put in place at selected Goodison Park home matches.
Fellow Premier League clubs Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Southampton have also agreed or renewed similar deals with EA Sports this summer and other partners include Barcelona and Valencia of the Spanish Liga; Borussia Dortmund from the German Bundesliga; Olympique Lyonnais and Paris Saint-Germain from France's Ligue 1 and AC Milan of Italy’s Serie A.
