Euroleague Basketball, which operates continental club competitions in Europe, has named online betting company Tempobet as its official national betting partner in Germany for its EuroLeague and EuroCup tournaments.
The season-long deal will cover the 2016-17 editions of each competition.
Under the agreement, Tempobet will sponsor German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) champion Brose Bamberg, which will compete in the EuroLeague. The company will also partner fellow BBL teams Alba Berlin, Bayern Munich and Ratiopharm Ulm, which will each feature in in the upcoming EuroCup campaign.
Tempobet will receive LED advertising exposure during the four clubs’ home fixtures, and will also benefit from other hospitality and sponsorship rights over the course of the season.
“Basketball is a hugely popular sport with both our existing customers and among potential ones, and the opportunity to be the only sportsbook on the LED billboards in Germany was too good to miss,” Tempobet managing director Mark Clayton said. “Having one deal that gives us simultaneous coverage in multiple European territories with audiences of many millions at the same time will help take us to the next level.”
