State foods agency the Idaho Potato Commission has agreed a two-year extension to its title sponsorship of the Boise-based college American football bowl game.
Under the deal, the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will continue to take place at Boise State University’s Albertsons Stadium from 2017 to 2018.
Event organiser ESPN Events initially signed a five-year agreement with the Idaho Potato Commission in 2011.
Financial terms for the sponsorship extension were not disclosed. However, the CapitalPress.com website said IPC will pay $450,000 (€408,000) for the naming rights of both the 2017 and 2018 bowl games.
The 2015 edition of the Famous Potato Bowl will take place on December 22. The longest-running cold weather bowl game is in its 19th season and will feature a Mountain West and Mid-American Conference matchup.
