Italian oil and gas company Eni has agreed a deal to sponsor Rome’s bid to host the 2024 summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Eni becomes the bid’s fifth main partner alongside Alitalia, BNL, Enel and UnipolSai. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Rome faces competition from Budapest, Los Angeles and Paris in its bid to stage the 2024 Games. The International Olympic Committee will announce the host city in September 2017.
In May, Eni entered into a three-year partnership with the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) ahead of the Uefa Euro 2016 national team tournament in France.
