Edinburgh Rugby drives away with Mitsubishi extension

Pro12 rugby union club Edinburgh has renewed its sponsorship deal with Mitsubishi Motors, the automotive manufacturing arm of Japan’s Mitsubishi Group.

The one-year extension will cover the remainder of the 2015-16 season, which began last month. The UK division of Mitsubishi Motors and Edinburgh Rugby have been in partnership since 2013.

As part of the deal, the Scottish club will receive five Mitsubishi vehicles from its local dealership. Mitsubishi’s logo will appear on Edinburgh’s jerseys and the brand will be promoted throughout the club’s Murrayfield Stadium.

Jonny Petrie, managing director at Edinburgh Rugby, said: “We want to be working with brands that fit us as Edinburgh Rugby and can also work with us to bring match-days to life. Being able to work with a good local dealer and strong brand like Mitsubishi is great for us.”
